The Burnett Power-Tip is a slim insert that delivers the power necessary to remove serious, rock-hard calculus. It was developed by Parkell in conjunction with Dr. Larry Burnett and other leading authorities on ultrasonic techniques.
Conventional perio inserts do a fine job of removing biofilm plaque, but not stubborn calculus. That’s because they are not designed to be used above the Medium power setting. And since they generally don’t have much mass, these traditional slim inserts tend to bounce off hard accretions without effectively loosening them.
The Burnett Power-Tip is different. It has a broader stroke, and its mass is greater along the working portion of the tip. It has more momentum when it hits the calculus and transfers 70% more energy to get the job done. The Burnett Power-Tip is considerably more robust and durable than a conventional slim insert, so you can operate your scaler power at the maximum setting, if necessary.
